At 32, Maimah Karmo was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer and founded the Tigerlily Foundation while having chemotherapy. Tigerlily educates and empowers young women “before, during, and after cancer,” especially those of underrepresented ethnic backgrounds and underserved communities. She wrote "Fearless: Awakening to My Life’s Purpose Through Breast Cancer," and was recognized by Oprah Winfrey as a thought leader helping others to transform their lives.
