Kecia Gaither, MD, MPH, FACOG, is director of perinatal services at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, NYC Health + Hospitals System, in the Bronx, NY. Her interests are prenatal diagnosis, diabetes, HIV, and obesity in pregnancy.

Gaither received her BA in biology from Barnard College and her MD from SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center, a subsidiary of The Medical College of Virginia. She completed her maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, NJ. She earned her MPH in health policy and management at Columbia University.

Gaither is a member of several organizations, including the New York Obstetrical Society, Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. She has been published in numerous scientific journals including The Journal of Maternal-Fetal and Neonatal Medicine and The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. She is a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals, including The Journal of Public Health and The Journal of Reproductive Medicine.

Gaither was an appointee of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to the HIV Planning Council of N.Y. She has been quoted in several newspapers and magazines, most recently concerning Kate Middleton and her bout with hyperemesis. Her first foray into the publishing arena debuted in 2013, with the book titled The Confident Woman. Gaither was also listed as one of America's Top Obstetrician Gynecologists by the Consumers Research Council of America in 2007, 2010, 2012, and 2013.
