Overview: Egrifta WR is an injection that is used to decrease fat buildup around the organs in the stomach area in certain people with HIV. It works by signaling your body to release growth hormone, which helps break down fat. Common side effects include reactions where the needle went in, joint pain, and sore arms, legs, or muscles. While less common, more serious side effects may include fluid retention, high blood sugar, and a higher risk of cancer.
