Uses
What is Tryngolza used for?
Tryngolza (olezarsen) is commonly used to lower triglyceride levels (fat in your blood) in people with familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS), which is a genetic condition where your body has trouble breaking down fats.
Tryngolza may also be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.
How does Tryngolza work (mechanism of action)?
People who have familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS) have very high levels of triglycerides. Tryngolza works by lowering the amount of a protein called apolipoprotein C-III (apoC-III). This protein prevents the breakdown of fats in your blood. Tryngolza lowers apoC-III levels to help your body break down fat and lower triglyceride levels.
