Overview: Rivfloza is used for primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1) to help lower oxalate levels in urine (pee). Common side effects include redness, pain, bruising, or rash near the injection site. The medicine is injected under the skin once a month. Ask your healthcare provider if you have any questions about how to use Rivfloza.

Uses

What is Rivfloza used for?

Rivfloza (nedosiran) is commonly used in certain people with primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1) to reduce oxalate levels in urine (pee).

Rivfloza may also be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.

How does Rivfloza work (mechanism of action)?

People with primary hyperoxaluria type 1 have too much of a natural substance called oxalate. Too much oxalate can damage your kidneys. Rivfloza lowers the amount of a protein called lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in your liver. Lowering LDH in your liver lowers the amount of oxalate your liver makes. Thus, Rivfloza works to lower oxalate levels.
