How does Datroway work (mechanism of action)?
Datroway is a type of medicine known as an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC). ADCs work by finding cancer cells in the body that have a specific protein on their surface. They then attach to this protein and help deliver a chemotherapy medicine into the cell, which kills the cancer cell. This can help prevent cancer tumors from growing and make the cancer shrink in size.

Side Effects
What are the most common side effects of Datroway?

- Blood disorders, including low red blood cell and low white blood cell levels
- Altered calcium levels
- Hair loss

What are the serious side effects of Datroway?
While less common, the most serious side effects of Datroway are described below, along with what to do if they happen.
Severe Allergic Reactions. Datroway may cause allergic reactions, which can be serious. Get help right away if you have any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.
- Breathing problems or wheezing
- Racing heart
- Fever or general ill feeling
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat
- Trouble swallowing or throat tightness
- Itching, skin rash, or pale red bumps on the skin called hives
- Nausea or vomiting
- Dizziness, feeling lightheaded, or fainting
- Stomach cramps
- Joint pain
Lung Inflammation. Datroway can cause inflammation in your lungs, also called interstitial lung disease or pneumonitis. This can be serious or even life-threatening. Get emergency help if you have trouble breathing or shortness of breath. You may also have a cough, fever, or chest pain.
Eye Problems. Datroway may cause eye problems, and some of these may be serious. Problems can include dry eye, pink eye (conjunctivitis), inflammation of the cornea (keratitis) or eyelids (blepharitis), tearing, and blurred vision. To help decrease some of these eye problems, you should use a lubricating eye drop or artificial tears (without any preservatives) several times a day. Keep any scheduled eye appointments before you start and while you are using Datroway. Do not wear contact lenses unless your eye healthcare provider says that you can. Contact your healthcare provider right away if you have any new or worsening eye symptoms, including the following.
- Eye redness, itchiness, or pain
- Swollen or itchy eyelids
- Feeling like you have something in your eye
- Eye dryness, watering, or discharge
- Vision changes, such as blurred vision or sensitivity to light
Mouth Sores. Mouth sores are common while using Datroway, and they can sometimes be severe. To reduce your risk of mouth sores, suck on ice chips or hold ice water in your mouth during your Datroway infusions. Use any mouthwash or other medicines your healthcare provider prescribes to prevent or treat mouth sores. Tell your healthcare provider if you develop any mouth sores, pain, redness, or other problems.

Allergies to Ingredients. People who are allergic to any of the following should not use Datroway.
- Datroway

- Any of the ingredients in the specific product dispensed

What should I know about Datroway before using it?
Datroway is usually given by a healthcare provider in a hospital or clinic. Your healthcare provider may monitor you for side effects after receiving Datroway and may give you medicine to reduce your risk of side effects during or after each dose. Examples of these medicines may include the following.
- Acetaminophen (Tylenol and others), to reduce fever
- Diphenhydramine (Benadryl and others), to reduce any infusion reaction symptoms
- Ondansetron (Zofran), to prevent nausea and vomiting
Datroway may make it difficult for you to get pregnant or to get your partner pregnant. Talk to your healthcare provider if you have concerns.
If you can get your partner pregnant, you should use effective birth control while you are using Datroway and for four months after your last dose. See the Pregnancy section for more details.
People who are 65 or older can be at greater risk for some side effects from Datroway, including serious side effects. See the Side Effects section for more details. Talk to your healthcare provider about your risks if you are in this age group.
What should I tell my healthcare provider before using Datroway?
Tell your healthcare provider about all of your health conditions and any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. This will help them determine if Datroway is right for you.
In particular, make sure that you discuss any of the following.
Current and Past Health Conditions. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any of the following.
- Problems breathing or lung problems
- Kidney or liver problems
- Eye problems
- Wear contact lenses
Pregnancy. Datroway may cause harm to an unborn baby. You may need to have a negative pregnancy test before you can start using Datroway. If you can get pregnant, you should use effective birth control while you are using Datroway and for seven months after your last dose. Tell your healthcare provider if you are, think you are, or plan to become pregnant.
Breastfeeding. It is not known if Datroway passes into breast milk. You should not breastfeed while you are using Datroway and for one month after your last dose. Tell your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.

Does Datroway interact with foods or drinks?
There are no known interactions between Datroway and foods or drinks.
It is unknown if drinking alcohol will affect Datroway, but heavy drinking can slow your immune response and make it harder for your body to fight cancer. The risk of tiredness may also be increased if you drink alcohol while using Datroway.
Does Datroway interact with other medicines (drug interactions)?
There are no known interactions between Datroway and other medicines. Always tell your healthcare provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using.
Overdose/Missed Dose
What should I do if I accidentally use too much Datroway?
If you or someone else has used too much Datroway, get medical help right away, call 911, or contact a Poison Control center at 800-222-1222.
What should I do if I miss a dose of Datroway?
Datroway is usually given by a healthcare provider in a hospital. Your healthcare provider will make sure you are receiving Datroway as scheduled.
If you miss an appointment to get your Datroway dose, call to make another appointment as soon as possible.
