Widaplik is available as a tablet that is used to treat high blood pressure. Widaplik is a combination of three different medicines (telmisartan, amlodipine, and indapamide) that lower blood pressure in different ways. Low blood pressure is a common side effect. Call your health care provider right away if you get eye pain, vision loss, dizziness, faint, unexplained weight gain, or swelling in your feet, ankles, or hands. Do not take this medicine during pregnancy. If you become pregnant, stop Widaplik right away and call your health care provider.

What is Widaplik used for?
Widaplik (telmisartan, amlodipine, and indapamide) is commonly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

How does Widaplik work (mechanism of action)?
Widaplik is a combination of three different medicines in one pill that work in different ways to lower your blood pressure. The three medicines in Widaplik are telmisartan, amlodipine, and indapamide. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. Indapamide is a thiazide diuretic or “water pill.”

How should I store Widaplik?
Widaplik should be stored at room temperature, between 68 F and 77 F (20 C and 25 C). It can be exposed to temperatures between 59 F and 86 F (15 C and 30 C) for shorter periods of time, such as when transporting it. Store in a cool, dry place, and protect from light.

What are the most common side effects of Widaplik?
The most common side effects of Widaplik are listed below. Tell your health care provider if you have any of these side effects that bother you.
- Low blood pressure (see below)
- Electrolyte changes (see below)

What are the serious side effects of Widaplik?
While less common, the most serious side effects of Widaplik are described below, along with what to do if they happen.
Severe Allergic Reactions. Widaplik may cause allergic reactions, which can be serious. Stop taking Widaplik and get help right away if you have any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.
- Breathing problems or wheezing
- Racing heart
- Fever or general ill feeling
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat
- Trouble swallowing or throat tightness
- Itching or skin rash
- Bumps on the skin called hives, which can be red, pink, white, or brown depending on your skin tone
- Nausea or vomiting
- Dizziness, feeling lightheaded, or fainting
- Stomach cramps
- Joint pain
Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension). Widaplik may cause low blood pressure, especially when you first start taking it. Low blood pressure is more likely if you have dehydration because of not drinking enough water, diarrhea, vomiting, or sweating a lot. If you feel lightheaded, faint, or dizzy, lie down. Tell your health care provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms of low blood pressure.
- Dizziness, feeling lightheaded, or fainting
- Confusion
- Feeling weak or tired
Electrolyte Changes and Increased Blood Sugar. Widaplik may cause changes to the levels of certain minerals in your body, called electrolytes. For example, it may cause low sodium levels (hyponatremia), low potassium levels (hypokalemia), or low magnesium levels (hypomagnesemia). Widaplik can also affect your blood sugar. Keep appointments for blood tests so your health care provider can check your electrolyte and blood sugar levels. Call your health care provider if you have any of the following symptoms.
- Weakness
- Unusual tiredness
- Muscle cramps or twitching
- Constipation
- Nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite
- Dizziness
- Restlessness or irritability
- Difficulty breathing
- Confusion or decreased alertness
- Abnormal heart rhythm
- Seizures
Kidney Damage. Kidney damage can happen when taking Widaplik. Keep all appointments to have your blood checked. Call your health care provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms of kidney damage.
- Reduced need to pee
- Swelling in your feet, ankles, or legs
- Weakness or unusual tiredness
- A hard time catching your breath or chest pain/pressure
- Unexplained weight gain
- Confusion
- Nausea
- Seizures
Eye Problems. Widaplik can cause eye problems that can cause you to lose vision. Symptoms of eye problems can happen within hours to weeks of starting Widaplik. Tell your health care provider right away if you have eye pain or it becomes harder to see.
High Uric Acid Levels (Hyperuricemia). Widaplik may cause high levels of uric acid, called hyperuricemia. Hyperuricemia can lead to a problem called gout. Call your health care provider if you have any of the following symptoms.
- Pain, swelling, or warmth in your big toe or other joints
- Pain in your belly or lower back
Warnings & Precautions
Who should not use Widaplik?
Allergies to Ingredients. People who are allergic to any of the following should not take Widaplik.
- Amlodipine
- Indapamide
- Telmisartan
- Widaplik
- Any other medicine known as a sulfonamide
- Any of the ingredients in the specific product dispensed
Your pharmacist can tell you all of the ingredients in Widaplik.
No Urine Production. Do not take Widaplik if you are making very little to no pee. This condition is also called anuria.
Drug Interactions. Widaplik should not be taken while you are using certain other medicines. Before taking Widaplik, tell your health care provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. See the Interactions section for more details.
What should I know about Widaplik before using it?
Do not take Widaplik unless it has been prescribed to you by a health care provider. Take it as prescribed.
Do not share Widaplik with other people, even if they have the same condition as you. It may harm them.
Keep Widaplik out of the reach of children.
Do not chew, cut, or crush Widaplik tablets.
What should I tell my health care provider before using Widaplik?
Tell your health care provider about all of your health conditions and any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. This will help them know if Widaplik is right for you.
In particular, make sure that you discuss any of the following.
Current and Past Health Conditions. Tell your health care provider if you have any of the following.
- Liver problems
- Kidney problems
- Heart problems
- Diabetes
- Electrolyte imbalance, such as high or low levels of sodium or potassium
- Glaucoma
- Sulfonamide or penicillin allergy
- Gout
Pregnancy. Widaplik can cause death or serious harm to a fetus if taken during pregnancy. Tell your health care provider if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. If you become pregnant, stop taking Widaplik right away and contact your health care provider.
Breastfeeding. It is not known if Widaplik passes into breast milk. Do not take Widaplik while you are breastfeeding. Talk with your health care provider about the best way to feed your baby if you take
Widaplik.

Interactions
Does Widaplik interact with foods or drinks?
There are no known interactions between Widaplik and foods or drinks. However, since Widaplik affects electrolytes, it is important to discuss your intake of electrolytes, including sodium and potassium, with your health care provider.
It is unknown if drinking alcohol will affect Widaplik. The risk of dizziness may increase if you drink alcohol while taking Widaplik. It is best to limit the amount of alcohol you drink.
Does Widaplik interact with other medicines (drug interactions)?
Always tell your health care provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using.
In particular, make sure that you discuss if you are taking any of the following before taking Widaplik.
- Aliskiren (Tekturna), which is a medicine for high blood pressure
- A supplement or salt substitute containing potassium
- Potassium chloride (Klor-Con and others), which is a medicine used to raise potassium levels
- Digoxin, which is a medicine used to treat irregular heartbeat and some types of heart failure
- Lithium, which is a medicine for certain mental health conditions
- A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), such as ibuprofen, naproxen, and others, which is in many prescription and OTC products for pain, swelling, and fever
- Simvastatin (Flolipid), which is a medicine used to lower cholesterol
- Cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune, and others) or tacrolimus (Astagraf XL, Prograf), which are medicines that suppress your immune system
Some other medicines may alter the blood levels of Widaplik and vice versa. Tell your health care provider about all medicines that you take or have recently taken.

Overdose/Missed Dose
What should I do if I accidentally use too much Widaplik?
If you or someone else has used too much Widaplik, get medical help right away, call 911, or contact a Poison Control center at 800-222-1222.
What should I do if I miss a dose of Widaplik?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and only take the next dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
