Overview: Sdamlo is used to treat high blood pressure and certain types of chest pain and heart disease. The medicine helps to relax your blood vessels. Dizziness, swelling of your legs and ankles, and tiredness are common side effects. Although this medicine can be used to treat certain types of chest pain, get emergency help if you have severe chest pain or chest pain that is different for you, especially if you also have sweating, sudden dizziness, or discomfort that spreads to your shoulder, arm, back, neck, or jaw.

What is Sdamlo used for?
Sdamlo (amlodipine) is commonly used for the following conditions.
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Coronary artery disease, which is a type of heart disease
- Angina, which is a type of chest pain
Sdamlo may also be used for other conditions as determined by your health care provider.
How does Sdamlo work (mechanism of action)?
Sdamlo relaxes your blood vessels so that blood can move through them more easily and your heart does not have to work as hard.

How should I store Sdamlo?
Sdamlo should be stored in the bottle it came in at room temperature, between 68 F and 77 F (20 C and 25 C). It can be exposed to temperatures between 59 F and 86 F (15 C and 30 C), for shorter periods of time, such as when transporting it.
After mixing a dose, use it within 1 hour or throw it away.
Side Effects
What are the most common side effects of Sdamlo?
The most common side effects of Sdamlo are listed below. Tell your health care provider if you have any of these side effects that bother you.
- Swelling of your legs and ankles (edema)
- Tiredness or drowsiness
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Stomach pain

What are the serious side effects of Sdamlo?
While less common, the most serious side effects of Sdamlo are described below, along with what to do if they happen.
Severe Allergic Reactions. Sdamlo may cause allergic reactions, which can be serious. Stop taking Sdamlo and get help right away if you have any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.
- Breathing problems or wheezing
- Racing heart
- Fever or general ill feeling
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat
- Trouble swallowing or throat tightness
- Itching or skin rash
- Bumps on the skin called hives that can be red, pink, white, or brown depending on your skin tone
- Nausea or vomiting
- Dizziness, feeling lightheaded, or fainting
- Stomach cramps
- Joint pain
Decreased Blood Pressure (Hypotension). Sdamlo may cause low blood pressure, especially if you have severe aortic stenosis, a condition where one of your heart valves does not open or close all the way. If you feel faint or dizzy, lie down. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms of low blood pressure.
- Dizziness, feeling lightheaded, or fainting
- Confusion
- Feeling weak or tired
Increased Angina or Heart attack. When you first start taking Sdamlo or increase your dose, your chest pain (angina) may get worse or you may have a heart attack. This risk is higher if you have severe obstructive coronary artery disease, a condition where the blood vessels that deliver blood, oxygen, and nutrients to your heart get blocked. Get emergency help if you have any of the following symptoms of a heart attack.
- Severe chest pain, which may feel like pressure, tightness, squeezing or aching
- Discomfort that spreads to the shoulder, arm, back, neck, or jaw
- Cold sweat
- Unusual tiredness
- Heartburn or indigestion
- Lightheadedness or sudden dizziness

Who should not use Sdamlo?
Allergies to Ingredients. People who are allergic to any of the following should not take Sdamlo.
- Amlodipine
- Sdamlo
- Any of the ingredients in the specific product dispensed

What should I know about Sdamlo before using it?
Do not take Sdamlo unless it has been prescribed to you by a health care provider. Take it as prescribed.
Do not share Sdamlo with other people, even if they have the same condition as you. It may harm them.
Keep Sdamlo out of the reach of children.
Sdamlo must be mixed with liquid right before you take a dose. Follow the “Instructions for Use” that comes with this medicine. If you have any questions, ask your health care provider.
What should I tell my health care provider before using Sdamlo?
Tell your health care provider about all of your health conditions and any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. This will help them know if Sdamlo is right for you.
In particular, make sure that you discuss any of the following.
Current and Past Health Conditions. Tell your health care provider if you have any of the following.
- Heart problems
- Liver problems
Other Medicines and Supplements. Sdamlo may interact with other medicines and supplements. Before using Sdamlo, tell your healthcare provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. See the Interactions section below for more details.
Pregnancy. It is not known if or how Sdamlo could affect pregnancy or harm an unborn baby. Tell your health care provider if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
Breastfeeding. Sdamlo passes into breast milk. Tell your health care provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.

Interactions
Does Sdamlo interact with foods or drinks?
There are no known interactions between Sdamlo and foods or drinks.
It is unknown if drinking alcohol will affect Sdamlo. The risk of dizziness, tiredness, or sleepiness may be increased if you drink alcohol while taking Sdamlo.
Does Sdamlo interact with other medicines (drug interactions)?
Always tell your healthcare provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using.
In particular, make sure that you discuss if you are using any of the following before using Sdamlo.
- Diltiazem (Cardizem CD and others), which is a medicine used for high blood pressure and other conditions
- Simvastatin (Flolipid, Zocor), which is a medicine used to treat high cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease
- A phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitor, such as avanafil (Stendra), sildenafil (Viagra, Revatio, and others), tadalafil (Cialis and others), or vardenafil (Levitra, Staxyn), which is a medicine used for erectile dysfunction or pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)
- Cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune, and others) or tacrolimus (Prograf, Astagraf, and others), which is a medicine used to suppress your immune system
Some other medicines may alter the blood levels of Sdamlo, and vice versa. Tell your healthcare provider about all medicines that you take or have recently taken.
