Overview: Simethicone is used to treat the symptoms of gas, including bloating, pressure, and fullness. It works by helping gas pass more easily through your gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Simethicone is usually well tolerated, although diarrhea may occur. It is taken by mouth and is available over-the-counter (OTC) in several forms, including a chewable tablet, capsule, film, and liquid. Read and follow the instructions for the product you have and ask your health care provider if you are not sure how to take it.
