What do Bayer products treat?
Bayer products are used to treat certain types of pain and help lower fever. The types of pain a Bayer product may help with include muscle pain, backache, minor arthritis pain, toothache, headache, and menstrual cramps. The main active ingredient in Bayer products is aspirin, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Aspirin helps relieve fever and pain by blocking certain proteins in your body. Some Bayer products also have caffeine in them to help improve pain relief.
There are Bayer products for adults and children as young as 12 years old.
What are the possible side effects of Bayer products?
Side effects may vary depending on the ingredients in the specific product you are using. Some possible side effects of Bayer products include nausea or an upset stomach. If either of these happen to you, try taking the medicine with food.

Caffeine. Taking other caffeine-containing medicines or drinking things with caffeine in them, such as coffee, soda, or tea, while using a Bayer product that has caffeine in it can cause nervousness, a fast heartbeat, and irritability.
Some Bayer products may contain phenylalanine. If you have phenylketonuria, do not take a Bayer product that contains phenylalanine. Carefully read the label of any Bayer product before you take it.
If you are pregnant, do not take any Bayer product without first talking with your health care provider. Aspirin may cause problems in a fetus. Problems during delivery may also happen.
Stop taking a Bayer product and call your doctor right away if you have any of the following serious side effects.
- Blood in your vomit
- Black or tarry poop
- Stomach pain that doesn’t go away
- Feeling faint
- Pain that gets worse or lasts more than 10 days or you have new symptoms such as redness or swelling
- Ringing in your ears or trouble hearing
- Fever gets worse or lasts for more than three days
