Tiger Balm products are used to treat joint and muscle pain, including back painneck painshoulder painarthritisstrains, sprains, and bruises. The main active ingredient in all Tiger Balm products is a topical analgesic called menthol. When menthol is applied, it stimulates the pain receptors in your body and then causes them to feel less pain by producing a cooling effect.

Tiger Balm products may also contain the following to treat other symptoms, as listed below.

  • A topical analgesic (methyl salicylate), which provides pain relief by producing a warming effect
  • A topical analgesic (capsicum), which provides pain relief by producing a warming effect

There are Tiger Balm products for adults and children as young as 12 years old.
