If you’re dealing with migraines, then you know they can quickly disrupt your everyday life and overall sense of well-being. Often, migraines are misunderstood or believed to be nothing more than a headache.

Getting a diagnosis can be crucial to finding the relief and treatment you need. But if your doctor dismisses your symptoms, or attributes them to another pre-existing health condition, you won't get the care you need. When trying to get a diagnosis, write down all your symptoms and review your notes to identify a timeline. Then, share this timeline with your doctor to encourage them to take your symptoms more seriously.

We want to know how you dealt with symptom dismissal:

  • Did you have to advocate for a migraine diagnosis from your doctor?
  • How did you feel when you felt your doctor was dismissing your symptoms?
  • Did you have to get a second opinion from another doctor before getting a migraine diagnosis?

Tell us more about how you felt when your doctor dismissed your migraine symptoms, including how you advocated for yourself. Post your response to the group and tag us on social media to keep the conversation going.
