Medical Marijuana for MS: What You Need to Know

Considering Cannabis for MS?
Many people with multiple sclerosis (MS) are curious about using medical marijuana for symptom relief. If you're considering it, it's important to understand both the potential benefits and risks. Always talk to your doctor before starting any new treatment.

Easing Muscle Spasms and Stiffness
Research shows that marijuana may help reduce muscle spasms and stiffness in MS patients. Many individuals report feeling relief from these symptoms when using cannabis. However, it's based on self-reported data, so results can vary from person to person.

Legal Considerations
Marijuana is illegal at the federal level, but many states have legalized it for medical use. If you live in a state where it's legal, you will need a doctor's certification to obtain it from a medical dispensary. Be sure to understand your state's laws.

Forms of Medical Marijuana
THC and CBD are the two main compounds in marijuana. THC is the psychoactive component, while CBD is not. THC can be smoked, eaten, or vaped, while CBD is available in oils, capsules, and tinctures. Each form has different effects and benefits.
